Meeting with Representatives of Armenian Guides Guild NGO

On November 26, the Head of the Working Group on Tourism at the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, the deputy of the RA NA My Step faction Hripsime Grigoryan and the deputy of the Working Group and the Bright Armenia Anna Kostanyan met with the Armenian Guides Guild (AGG) met with the President of the organization Naira Sukiasyan and the members Marine Patvakanyan and Liana Avetyan. The meeting took place on the basis of the letter-application of the AGG to Hripsime Grigoryan.

During the discussion the problems concerning the NGO were raised. In particular, the guests presented the issue of suspending the funding provided by the WFTGA (World Federation of Tourist Guides Association) Training Center. It should be noted that the AGG has been a member of the WFTGA since 2005.

Referring to the problem, the MP Hripsime Grigoryan noted that the issue would be presented to the relevant bodies, as well as if necessary a discussion would be organized to solve the problem.

The other topic discussed during the meeting was related to the issues related to the regulation of tourist activity to the law on Tourism. At the deputies’ request, the guides presented their positions. Discussions on the issue will be continuous.
